Montevallo Introduces Online Courses for Undergraduates

Starting this summer, Montevallo will offer a few undergraduate courses online. Some of UM's graduate programs already use web-based classes, but this is the first time students have the opportunity to take introductory-level courses online.

This year has been a year for the books at UM. College Night is no exception with this regard. The Golds and Purples both fought vehemently for their respective shows to bring home the win. However, the Purples, again, went home with the trophy this year. This makes the "Purple reign" continue for another year just as it has for the past two years.

The University of Montevallo has made new changes around campus. The new Wireless Everywhere, Print Anywhere System, better known as WEPA, has taken UM by surprise. Overnight, it was installed in various locations around campus such as Main, Morgan and Carmichael Library.

The Journey

Looking back on my career at UM, I have realized more truth in the phrase "to everything there is a season." When I started my journey initially in the fall of 1998, I would have never expected to witness the events that I have seen on this campus. I was here when the historic decision was reversed during College Night and was also a member of the graduating class on the Purple side who had never experienced the thrill of victory on Palmer stage in February.
